Whether you are remodeling, renovating or picking out a new picture, knowing your personal tastes makes selecting the perfect fixture, accessory or piece of art that much easier. Follow these tips to help discover your style:

- Is there a reoccurring colour or pattern in your home? If you have repeated a style from room to room it’s because you feel comfortable with it or it inspires you.
- Visit Pinterest or decorating websites and save pictures of the clothing, accents, art, bedding, rooms etc. you like. Once you have an album, look at each picture. Are there any repeating colours, patterns or styles?
- Do you have a favourite painting or piece of art? Think about why you love it. Is it bright and colourful or classic and subtle? Once you identify its style, you will start to uncover yours.
- Do you have a favourite colour? If not, look at different colours and make note of how they make you feel.
- Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Do you love nature or are you more cosmopolitan? Your personality usually influences your style.
You may find that you like elements from different styles or have a definite taste for the trendy, traditional, ornate or earthy.
